In June 2019, Michaela won the title of Miss Florida and became the statewide speaker, educator, and advocate on behalf of the Miss Florida Organization. She traveled over 3,500 miles a month, visited 40+ schools, completed over 75 speaking engagements and appearances, and reached over 15,000 people during her year of service. Michaela created a new, paid partnership for the Miss Florida Organization with the Florida Department of Citrus and generated additional sponsorships for the organization resulting in $4,800 in in-kind services. Additionally, she increased social media following by 5,000 followers. As Miss Florida, Michaela is a statewide spokesperson for several organizations including Advanced Recovery System’s “Real Talk,” an educational outreach program that strives to prevent substance abuse and addiction. She spoke to over 35 schools and 3,500 students, exceeding the identified outreach targets by 200%. She helped increase visibility for the program by securing media coverage for her presentations and expanding ARS’ digital footprint. Michaela also educates elementary students on the Florida Everglades’ ecosystem through her partnership with The Everglades Foundation. She traveled to 15 elementary schools introducing Pre-K through 5th grade students to the Everglades endangered species and water conservation efforts. Since winning the title of Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen 2014, Michaela has served as a Children Miracle Network Hospital ambassador by raising funds for her local hospitals and meeting patients and their families across the state. She has been a brand ambassador for several companies, including OrangeTheory Fitness, David’s Bridal, Regalia Magnificent Apparel, Ann Marie’s Clothing, Rodan & Fields, and HitFit Gym.
